Love The Life You're Given
I've had a wonderful spring working with clients who are making the world a better place. From Working Capital Group seeking ways to solve human trafficking in the supply chain, to the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Council as they look for ways to take the best possible care of their people.
This week, I had the honor of graphic recording a conversation with author and journalist Suleika Jaouad for the Utah Leadership Council. Suleika told her story of surviving an acute leukemia diagnosis at the age of 22 to an auditorium of college students. The wisdom she shared was incredibly valuable at their life stage, but I've found that I've been contemplating much of what she said and how it applies to my life too.
Below are my takeaways from this truly inspirational young woman.
Find Connection - If you're going through a difficult time, chances are good that you aren't alone. Find your community, be clear on who to prioritize as friends, and show up for them.
Allow Space For Grief And Sadness. Our culture doesn't encourage this but it's so important to take time to feel.
Be Open To Possibilities. Make space and time for unexpected opportunities.
When Someone You Love Is Sick: Send messages of love with no need to reply.
