What do you want more of in 2024?

What would you love more of this year, personally and professionally?

This sounds like a light hearted question that might not belong in a serious meeting, but it was just the ticket at a global offsite I recently graphic recorded.

This year many teams are getting together in person for the first time since 2019.  In many cases it's the fist time their meeting each other in person too.   

You may be gathering people to get some serious work done, but they also need to get to know each other, see what they have in common, what they want to learn more about each other, and where their strengths are as a team.  This simple question we posed at a recent global team offsite accomplished all of that: "If you could do more of what you love in 2024 what would you do?" 

Attendees answered the question on sticky notes before they went into afternoon breakout sessions.  I then themed their responses into buckets that were pretty obvious - this team loves to travel, make art and read - a lot!  The mural was finished in time to wrap up their day and gave them more reasons to celebrate and more things to talk about with each other that evening.
